What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word and reveals who He is. It is without error, authoritative, and applicable to our lives.
(2 Timothy 3:14-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe in one eternal God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – distinguishable but indivisible. God is completely holy, totally loving, and desires meaningful relationship with His creation.
(Isaiah 43:10-11, Revelation 4:11, Matthew 3:16-17)

We believe mankind was created to have meaningful relationship with God, but our sin has separated us in that relationship. Sin has caused us to be spiritually dead, and ushered spiritual and physical death and evil into the world.
(Genesis 1:26-27Romans 5:12, Romans 3:23)

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ as fully God and fully man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to life, proving His victory and authority.
(Hebrews 1:3, Acts 10:38Matthew 28:6)

God’s Plan

We believe it is God’s deep desire to save us, through Jesus Christ, from our spiritual death and separation. To receive this salvation, we must acknowledge and turn from our sins, and put our faith in Jesus Christ.
(Titus 3:5-7, Ephesians 2:4-6, Romans 10:9)

God calls us to become more like Christ and empowers us to realize and submit to the individual and corporate plans and purposes He has for us. He also desires to bless, heal, transform, and equip us, so that we may strengthen the Church and influence the world with His message and love.
(Titus 2:12-14, Romans 12:1-2, Matthew 28:19-20)

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit, fully God and presently active on earth, is purposed to guide us into all truth and exalt Jesus Christ. He empowers us to live God-honoring lives, to be used in God’s plan, and to be fruitful.
(John 14:16-17, John 14:26, Nehemiah 9:20)

It is God’s plan that we are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, which enables us to receive and utilize spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues, for the purposes of strengthening the Church and pointing the world to Jesus.
(Acts 8:15-17, 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, 1 Corinthians 14:12)

The Church

We believe the Church is the worldwide community of baptized believers, unified through faith in Christ, committed to making disciples of Christ, and intent on continuing Christ’s work of establishing His Kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven. We affirm the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to gather together regularly for fellowship, prayer, and spiritual growth.
(Acts 2:46-47, 1 Corinthians 12:12Ephesians 4:11-13)

We actively practice:

  • Baptism in water, which is the outward sign of the work Christ has done in our lives and identifies us as belonging to God. As a command from the Lord for all believers, water baptism is the first step after salvation. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Mark 16:16)
  • Communion, which is a memorial of Christ’s suffering and death on the cross and looks forward to Christ’s second coming. As a command from the Lord for all believers, it is to be done on a regular basis. (Luke 22:17-19, Matthew 26:26-281 Corinthians 11:26)

Things to Come

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again as He promised and that people will be separated to their eternal destinations—whether to the new Heaven and earth, or to a literal hell—according to their relationship to Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 25:46, Revelation 21:1, Matthew 24:30-31)
